Shoot.

Shoot. Where the heck have I been?
Now-a-days blogs are all cutesie but here I am all hey. Don't care. Moving right along.
My ears are for real ringing. I am bored out of my freaking mind. I decided to catch up on a few of my favorite blogs, an activity I used to do daily. Then I remembered how much I used to want to stay up to date on my life and the life of my kid. Looking back on the last two years I feel like a total failure. I have barely wrote down a thing. I have a few pictures to remember this and that but nothing like a specific really good day. Lately, I don't feel like the person I used to be. Sure, being a Mom changed me a little but there is something else and I can't quite put my finger on it. I do miss having really good friends who know me. I have made friends here but not the ones who instantly know if your having a bad day and definitely no one who will call me for a Diet Coke run. Stupid huh? I think I may be putting value on stupid things. Like things that don't really matter anymore. The thing is they matter to me dumb or not. Thats my rant for today. I need to remember how I feel and these things that are going on. Now on to the good stuff...
Miles Drewbie. Oh my gosh I love him. He is 2 and totally working that number like he knows the persona it holds. He really is an awesome kid. I have always known he has a wise old soul but golly gee he really is wise. Smart? Maybe. I'm talking like Wise. Sometimes I think he knows all there is to know about this life. He just came here to be raised and then will go on to be... Who knows what because I don't even have words to describe this one. Andrew and I are obsessed with every little thing he does. Back in December he crawled out of his crib and came into our room. Two things; One I obviously didn't know he knew how to crawl out of his crib. Two, I didn't know he knew how to open doors? Mind Blown. Then he's just standing there in the middle of the night just staring at me. Freaky. Anyway, so instantly you know you need to figure out another sleeping situation. I just didn't know what that was... Still don't. We tried buying a mattress and putting it on the floor but no way jose. He knows our bed is way better. So, I struggled with this for a long time. I knew everyone in the know-it-all mommy world would tell me I need to lock him in or keep walking him back to his room etc.. Well, don't have it in me to lock him in his room and I'm to tired to keep walking him back. I have finally come to a point where I ignored all the voices telling me I am doing a bad job and tried to listen to my own. He sleeps with us. You know what? I like love it. I have been thinking alot about what if I were to lose him or what if something devastating happened tomorrow? I would have zero regrets. I get to spend a lot of 21 out of the 24 hours with him (I don't nap with him.) I get to hold him, kiss him, love him whenever I want. This doesn't work for everyone and soon he will get our bed as his own but for now I will cherish all the time I get to spend with my little love. So, I kinda hope nobody reads all of this. I am happy I wrote this down and I hope to be better at writing all of this life down because we all know there aint no journal I'm writing. Heres to hoping! Cheers.

New Year. Hola.

Another Year has come and gone...

Jigga wha??!

This year was spent very simply at home, snarfing pizza and finally watching T.V. in the comfort of our living room.

We were going on 4 months with no Tele and I think we were both reaching our breaking point. We are couch potatoes by any means but there comes a time where you have watched every movie that you own and your sick of going out to restaurants to catch a football game.
Money and Time people. So, we decided to give the old antenna one more try... Wha-la, turns out I may have been trying to set it up wrong all along.
Shucks.
Of course, Andrew tries one time and it works and when I try to tell him that I tried that same thing he won't believe me.
For all of you out there... I know that I tried the exact same thing and that dang antenna gave me NOTHIN!

I'm over it. My ellen watchin days are back and I won't complain.

This past year has been so good to me.
Last year I would have called you crazy if you told me I would be married, moved twice, and pregnant I would have given you a crusty along with a big fat HA in your face.
Nonetheless, here I am pregnant and living in Boise, ID.
And everything feels like it has gone exactly as it was supposed too.

I wish I had some wonderful resolutions like blogging regularly, losing weight, and learning something new etc. I don't and I am okay with that. Right now, I am content with my growing body, the fact that I am not exactly sure what makes me tick yet, and I can't commit to this blog like I dream of. All in good time my friends!

I can't wait for next year, and the next, and the next after that. I'm learning that life is good.
Figuring everything out has become my daily routine, and guess what I'm loving it.
These pics capture our New Years perfectly.

Yes, I was sporting no make-up, no bra, and a big ol smile all day.
Holla 2013. Bring it :)

Tuesday.

I like Tuesdays.
Especially this Tuesday.
Why?
Well, simply because Tuesdays are the day I turn a new week pregnant. Today I am 18 weeks prego and going strong. I get a text at approximately 9:00 AM on the morning of the new week telling me all the new things that are going on in there. I usually cheat and read ahead but still I appreciate the text.
Why do I especially like this Tuesday?
Because, in exactly two weeks from this very day we are leaving for our Thanksgiving vacation. Did I mention we are going to Sunny California where I will plan to drink my first sip of Diet Coke in over two months. I also plan on squeezing babies all week long and enjoying great family chats.

I love me some vacation.

Oh, and on that Tuesday two weeks from now I will be exactly half way to meeting our baby BOY.

Wait IS it Election Day? Kidding.
It's a good TUESDAY.

Wristbands

Is it just me or did you leave your wristbands all summer too?
I was an EFY die hard. Fours years proud.
I would leave my wristband on for the entire summer, and when it started to rip and became more like a weapon, I was still wearing that wristband till it decided to fall off MY wrist. Not Vice Versa. And if one came from the pool, or a Seven Peaks Dance... .Same Story.

I don't know exactly why I was so adamant on keeping all of my wristbands. Surely, I had made memories that would last a lifetime and I wouldn't need some wristband to do the job. Regardless, things have not changed. I sit here to today with a wristband on from over a week ago. What? I had a magical time.
Proof.
Please excuse the up close and personal view.
It's still in perfect condition, and it's not going any where.

It's Friday, I'm by myself. What's a girl to do?
I may be off to rent movies, and I am craving cupcakes.
Why is Sprinkles my favorite cupcake joint no where to be found?
-Wristbands for life.

Gregarious

Andrew told me about this word about a month ago. I thought it sounded great and defined us very well. Little did I know how well...

gre·gar·i·ous

[gri-gair-ee-uhs]
adjective
1.
fond of the company of others; sociable.
2.
living in flocks or herds, as animals.
3.
Botany . growing in open clusters or colonies; not matted together.
4.
pertaining to a flock or crowd.
I wouldn't consider myself a social butterfly by any means, but up until recently did I realize how much I need just the simple company of people that I connect with. Colorado has been nice. It has been completely different than I thought.
My thoughts prior to moving:
1. I would have met a friend by now
2. I would have a job by now
3. I would feel comfortable here... by now.

Don't get me wrong the people here are great. I just have yet to find me a soul girl Aka a girl that I could be potential besties with, sorta like a soulmate girl (in a non-weird way.)
The truth is I AM LONELY in the day until my hub comes home. It's kinda that feeling as if I don't belong/fit in.
I just had the chance to get away for a short 4 days. Which btw were magical. Give me the Shamu Show and Coronado in the same trip and I am a changed women. Last night as we were driving home from the airport we were chatting all about the trip and how much we missed each other. We turned onto the street that leads to our house and tears just started streaming down my face. My reality set back in.

Its hard. Its my little battle that I have to keep fighting. Andrew just held me all night long as I wiped snot all over our blanket, and mascara on our pillows and his face. He didn't care. He knew exactly how I was feeling. I got a good one. He for real is my {soulmate}.

Long story short. I have learned that I need people. I need friends. I need good company.

Cliff Hanger

Okay, So remember how I told you I had a scary/funny story from last week? Well a week later I am here to tell it:

So, there I was wrapped in my blanket watching the horrible news about the Aurora Theater shooting. I am the type of person that when I watch stories such as this, or murder mystery shows, I get way too involved. I am really jumpy and I sub consciously believe that it applies to my life when it completely doesn't. At some point after the 9news anchor telling me it was okay to step away and take a break, I decided to go read my book at the pool for a bit to re-evaluate my life. I started changing into my swim suit and all of a sudden our front door handle started shaking like someone was trying to get in.
{My heart dropped.}
Then I hear a key entering the key hole, jiggling. I could hear they were having trouble, and I  standing there in shock {naked}. Then I was like "maybe its Andrew coming to surprise me for lunch?" {Which has never happened}.Miracles do happen. But I knew that couldn't be it, because he would have been able to get inside the house by now. The door is still shaking, so I began to creep towards the door to lock the upper key hole. Not once did these people knock, so I was convinced this was not a good situation.
I make it to the door, lock the second lock, and peek through the peep hole...

I see two ladies. Equipped with cleaning supplies and more. I open the door, and to their surprise they have the wrong apartment.

Oh lo siento senorita. Wrong CASA.

Oh okay. So you just nearly gave me a heart attack. For sometime after the event I had to convince myself that I wasn't getting broken into.

And that my friends is my story.

Thank You Very Much.

My Official Wedding Speech

So, on our wedding Day we had planned to say a little speech…

Due to the un organization of the event and my personality to just let everything slide I completely forgot about it. Well I still have been thinking about that little speech that I wanted to give and I want to share it now. As most probably know Andrew and I’s days of dating were short. Many people close to him didn’t really get to know me, and what it was about Andrew that made me fall head over hills for the dude. So without further ado…

I know people close to me know why I fell in love with Andrew, but I want those close to him to know why I couldn’t imagine living another day without him.

Andrew, is my extra set of legs. When we are running and I want to stop and walk so bad, I won’t because Andrew is the energizer bunny and he keeps me going. He pushes me without even knowing it. He is my extra brain. He knows a little bit about everything, so far I haven’t asked him one thing that he doesn’t know even just a little bit about. He is my extra set of arms, when I have an itch on the middle part of my back that I can’t reach he always gets it perfectly for me. And, he is the missing part of my heart that I have been searching for my whole entire life. Honestly, the kid still makes my heart beat fast. He IS my missing puzzle piece.

I love Andy Pants for so many reasons. Anyone who knows him knows that he has this incredible energy about him. He is answer to all of my questions, especially these last few months. He has made everything make sense, and I am so thankful for him more and more every day.

(Two Months into Marriage)

I love waking up to your smile every day.  Really how did you not have braces?

Happy {two}Months to US. Love you Boo.

I don't know what to call this.

Sarai Galaviz.
I met her two weeks ago during my awkward "temp" job stay. When first meeting someone that you don't know how long you'll be in contact with, it's strictly small talk. Until one day we just started chatting away.
Long story short we got on the subject about how long she had lived here in Colorado. One thing led to another and I found out that her mother had died. So, we keep talking and I asked about her husbands parents. "Did his parents come from Mexico as well, or do they still live there?" Oh, they both died as well. Okay, thats sad but coming from someone that has lost a parent as well it didn't turn into that awkward conversation. She asked about my parents and I explained how my Dad had died as well.
For some reason whenever I tell somone new about my dad I kinda start to giggle. Not because it is funny, but just because life is hard and it is okay to laugh about really sad stuff sometimes.Plus it happend 14 years ago. I have found joy, and lived a good life.  My girl Sarai just started laughing when I told her. I loved it. I started laughing too. She gets it, or rather me. We were talking about all these people so close to us dying, and we could still laugh. I know this sounds so irreverant, but seriously LIFE can get the best of us if we don't find humor in the really sucky things.

I have been sitting in front of the T.V. all day watching the news. Why do people have to go shoot people? They ruin for it for everyone. This situation, is not funny and probably never will be.

I have been feeling a little under the weather this week, but yesterday especially. My head was floating due to my nasal passage blockage. Hubs and I have to e-mail while he is at work, because he can't text. So, here a little treat for your friday afternoon. Humor, in all this madness.
Clearly.

PRAY for the people that were affected today in the Theater Shooting.

...I look forward to telling the story of what happened to me today. It's funny, but I havent been able to laugh about it yet. Give me the weekend to let my heart beat slow down. Monday.

I got ya good back there.
I don't usually pull punk's such as that, but when sticking to my word didn't seem realistic I let it slide.

Hi, my name is Chelsi J... Baker. WHA??!!
I got hitched and moved one state over.

Let me fill you in on the past few months. We are married little lovers, and thats all that matters. The rest consists of life as we know it and it might bore the average reader.

K. Wait. Do you want to see how hot my husband is real quick?

He would die, if he new this blog exsisted. Since I may have one person who may view this blog I think I am in the safe zone.

Lets talk about living in Colorado.
  1. Currently we don't have internet so I am in the Apartment office building bumming off their slower than slow internet.
  2. It's alot harder to make friends than I thought. How do we make friends? Someone please help me out.
  3. I am also currently unemployed. Which should translate to the fact that I am going cra cra. I went from working a great deal, going to school, planning a wedding, and moving... to this. I need a job. Don't know a single soul, therefore no contacts to help a sista out.
  4. I watch Ellen on the daily
  5. I walk across the street during happy hour (2-4 PM) to get my DC fill. Except Colorado thinks Diet Peps is better, so they decided to serve it everywhere. I am not complaining. I'll take what I can get.
  6. Why does the hour from 4-5 PM take a ssssooo long? Def, my least favorite hour of the day.
  7. I had a temp job for 2 weeks, and awkwardly found out they weren't going to "buy" me from the agency. That was cool.
  8. During that 2 weeks hubs and I got to ride to work together, eat  lunch together, and ride home together. It was magical.
  9. We share a car, so I have gotten real good at walking to my every destination.
  10. Life is good.
I must say it feels good to be back. I forgot what writing can do to me, especially now.

THE plan.

So, this post is brought to you by the ladies pictured above.
It was after class the other day that I happened to be right next to them as they were talking about their plans. One girl explained how she has always known her plan. She received 48 credits in High School, always knew that she was going to attend the University of Utah and then was going to get her Ph.D. She took 24 credits this semester and plans on taking 21 credits next semester. Not to mention she is getting a double major in Anthropology and Mass Comm. She just always knew it was her plan. The next girl always knew she was going to get her associates from Dixie and then attend the U, followed by a Masters. She too also went on to explain how she has to follow a plan, and BLAH,BLAH,BLAH.
I'm sitting there like well I guess I just fly by the seat of my pants ladies because this lady has no plan. The truth is there once was a plan. I remember I stood up in my Sports Marketing Class senior year and explained to the class my plan.I told them how I was going to travel and not get married until I was about 23 or so. I was going to get my degree, and someday be a News Anchor. One day that plan went up in flames. I changed my idea about marriage, and I decided it was okay that I was going to get married at 19. And don't get me wrong it would have been okay, it would be okay to get married at any age.
Here's the deal.
I am not married. I haven't traveled much. Reason being I learned this thing called life actually requires money to survive. I have decided I don't really want to be an News Anchor. I will however get my degree. Someday.
I walked away asking myself, What happened to my PLAN? What is my PLAN? I realized I honestly don't have a plan.
The thing about having a PLAN is that things change. One day could change everything. Sometimes there is another plan for us and we need to be willing to let that plan happen. I know if I would have stuck with my first idea of a "PLAN" I would not be here. I would not have learned these valuable lessons.
So, although I don't have one specific path that I am willing to follow, I do however have many plans. I change my mind everyday. I don't know exactly where I am going to end up, but I do know that I am doing what is right for me.
Moral of the story is... Don't Panic.
Everything will happen as it should, even if it doesn't go exactly as YOU planned.

two years. flies by.
Not exactly. If you would have asked me that last year, or a year and a half ago. I would have never said that it has flown by.
I have learned enough to fill up an index about myself. It's true. It has been quite the journey that I never would have taken had I not had my heart broken into a thousand tiny pieces. to be honest were still working on the put back together part. It works out because I feel like this second remodel of my heart has made it stronger than ever before. It now knows when to put up guard, the taking down part still needs some work. It's smarter.
softer.
and more selective.
We don't take any lad making his way down the conveyor belt. In fact we haven't taken any at all. Everything takes time. Everything.
2 years ago it was a beautiful day. It was the perfect amount of sunny and cloudy. The air was crisp, but not like it is today.
This day usually is put down on record for the best day of people's lives.
Yeah. That good.
EXCEPT.
It wasn't.
It wasn't the best day. It wasn't the worst day I have ever had either. It just happened to be any other day.
two years ago on this very day I would have married someone.
It was a blessing in disguise, because the young lady I was, was not ready. Not ready at all.
I am thankful for these 2 years. So very very thankful.
The battle with the heart is not easily won, I tell you what.

Taken for Granted.

There are 3 things in my life right now that I will never take for granted again.

1. Dishwasher
2. A Garbage Can as opposed to a dumpster across the parking lot
3. Microwave

Things would run a little bit smoother around here if I were to have these luxuries of life.
I miss the dishwasher too much. In spite of not having a dishwasher, I don't wash my dishes. I don't even have a disposal so I have to reach down and grab the remnants that were left from scrubbing and manually walk them over to the garbage can that won't get taken out again until maybe April because it is so cold outside. I remember the days when there was a trash bin that I could throw all my DC's into when I got out of the car, or I could take the garbage from the house out to the trash in 5 very easy steps. Those days are gone. I took every single time I took the garbage out for granted. Last, but certainly not least the Microwave. I know I have the option of going out and purchasing one, but I haven't brought myself to that decision yet. The oven does the job when its hired too but its just not the same. I always forget about this too. I buy oatmeal, and lean cuisines, and popcorn and realize the second I walk in the door that those things have no chance in my household. It's a shame. Truly. When I grow up and have these things in my life again, I will be sure to live everyday grateful that there is a Trash can outside my door, a Dishwasher ready to clean even the toughest grime, and a Microwave ready to heat anything at the touch of a hand. Until then I will continue to stare at these dishes in my sink, and wonder how ever will I get them clean?

Head to your Heart.

Lately, I want to throw my hands up in the air and run around like a crazy person. I don't know why, but I feel like I'm slowly losing touch with my purpose. I don't exactly know what my purpose is right now but the drive I once had at the beginning of the semester is disappearing. I'm letting confusion take over. The path I have chosen has a big glob of fog over it. There are decisions to be made, and I feel like I'm not in the right mind to make them. I realize things happen, plans change but I can't decide if I should make a U turn and turn left where I had taken a right before. This could change my plan drastically or I could see what's down the road and realize the right turn was in fact the right choice. Life is no walk in the park people. I don't want to mess up the progress I have made, because i may not get it back. It's a risk, a rather big one. My heart and head are telling me two different things. The trick is knowing which one to listen too and when. Time is what I do have at the moment. I have time to decide, time to think, and time to evaluate my options. Nothing is worse then rushing big decisions. Someone once told me to write down what's important to me? What do I want, and what have I learned? So bring I'm the lists. Things are about to get crazy up in here!
Onnnn a brighter note, I did the weather this week on Newsbreak and it may be pure comedy. I'm thinking it will be included on a upcoming post. It's just that good. Get ready folks.
Glad we had this Chat.....

Awkward.

Hi. My name is Chelsi and I am possibly the most awkward human being.ever. Lately, its as though I can't hold a conversation without saying something completely out of context, or just plain awkward. i.e.
Today I went to visit my mom for lunch, we said our goodbyes and I was walking away alone, naturally. Anyway, a gentlemen approaches me from behind. Which can be aswakward in and of itself. Opening statement: Would it be weird if I asked you for number? I'm sure I gave him a look to remember because he quickly came back with a "probably huh?" uh. What? First of all you came at me from behind and scared me slightly, second I just got a new phone number and I'm not sure I know it yet, third I'm Chelsi. The conversation went something like where do you work? Oh, um, I don't work, well I work but I don't work here, but my Mom does. Work here that is.
Spit it out.
Well, mister x didn't care he just wanted some digits and don't worry homeboy didn't even have his phone. He "memorized" it.
I'm not even confident that I gave him the right number.
Yeah I'll talk to you soon... Bahahha there is no way.
Shout Out.
to one of my best friends Melissa.
She won't read this so I can say whatever I want and she won't know.
She had a birthday yesterday and we celebrated by getting Pedi's and signing me up with her and her loved one on their family plan. I'm a bad friend, but she insisted and I couldn't turn down the white iphone that I have been dreaming about.
Liss and I were sisters separated at birth. We have identical brains. Creepy? Yes, but the idea grows on ya. We met each other right in the nick of time. She literally saved me, because we do have the same brain, when I'm not thinking logically she is. The last two years for both her and I came with many surprises, and it only became more apparent why we met when we did.
She is my spokesperson when I can't talk.
I think she is pretty great and I'm glad she had a birthday.
Lastly.
The first time I heard this song, I didn't love but for some reason it has captivated me.
I had a big fat test the other day and this song for some reason pumped a sista up. Rihanna never seizes to fill my ears with pure joy.
We Found Love.
I may or may not love what she says in the beginning. What? im innocent.

Beverage of choice.

So, as we all know I am a server. I get drinks for people of all kinds. Well the other night someone had me mix quite the peculiar combination and it intrigued my interest to say the least. When things calmed down I decided to give it a whirl. Now when I write this, give it a chance before you hate on it.... Diet Coke {my personal beverage selection} AND Rootbeer. It sounds like throw up but trust me it does not taste this way. If you have ever tried Diet Rootbeer you know that it belongs with the pups, but when you Diet Cola and just a pinch of Rootbeer you are doing yourself a favor just trust me. It tastes like rootbeer but it isnt as bad cause it just cancels out the Diet Coke and tastes like Rootbeer. I would not lead you astray, partly because I have been drinking Diet Coke a little excessively these days and this adds a nice switcharoo to my life.
Next.
item of business.
I must warn if you are easily offended then click the X in the top right corner of your screen.
I had an embarrassing moment that is worth writing because its THAT embarrasssing.
It was late one Monday night. I was ready to go home but got sat my last table. I was pretty happy that they were as least ordering some alcoholic bevs because if you have been a server then you know that means bigger tip. Well everyone ordered, and then I get to this last fella who wants something that we don't offer on the menu, but shouldn't be to hard to whip up. So I go talk to our friendly bartender and I tell him the DEETs. Well in restaurant land, if we don't have the button for a paticular item we just type it in and give a price that seems suitable for that item. I did just as I was supposed to but just to be funny named the drink something with a little spice...
Never again will I do this. EVER.
I get the drink out to the man, and it had been made to perfection. The night goes on and its time for me to deliver the check. Get a load of this folks.
Me: Heres your check and I'll be your cashier when your ready.
Return a couple of minutes later
Lady: So for corporate purposes we might need you to change the name of the drink on this check?
RUSSIAN NIPPLES may not fly with our boss.
Me: red faced, apologize and simply walk away.
Oh Chels, you know better.
Russian Nipples?
Better believe it.
So, whether it be Diet Coke with Rootbeer or Russian Nipples, Chelsi J will always have the beverage for you.

hi neighbor.

Oh wait, I'm not even sure I have neighbors except the fact that they get mail and I get money mailers addressed to the current resident. The truth is I'm sure that they probably think the same thing about me. Life has been a tad bit on the crazy side. Little bit of break downs, panic attacks, and a lot of figuring everything out on my own. It's crazy the things that you will do when you are forced out of your comfort zone. I knew it would be a toughie but in the end you survive. I have learned a lot these last 2 months and everyday I know will bring something new, and if not without fail another day will come. I have had the chance to hit rock bottom and rebuild there. I wouldn't have it any other way. Life is good. This last week I was able to take a much needed break, recharge if you will. It was... well there isn't words for how good it was. I took a jet plane to visit the sun, and the cutest kids/sis-in- law in the world. I feel a tribute coming on, but it deserves it's own post so stay tuned...
In other news one of my best friends got hitched. I got to participate more so than I have in my other friends weddings and I loved it. She made a B-E-A-U tiful bride. Just see for yourself.
As for right now I have to go kill a massive critter that has lost its way on my wall, but just so you know miss chelsi j is back so get pumped, or dont. Whatev.
